Ego - Gratitude
Ego strives for permanence. A permanent continuous sense of self and yet there is none on the ego level. Who I am tomorrow is not who I am today. The only permanence exist beyond ego, beyond the thinking mind. I tap into it in the listening, experiencing and acting mind. Perhaps we should be grateful for ego, for it's striving for a condition of permanence. For it's desire is like a pointer to what has greater permanent, what is beyond egos self, the Divine self.
hmmm....
The Divine is also impermanent, also different tomorrow from today, it's all dynamically updating, reconfiguring, ripples from an original thought.
Ok, so perhaps we are never part of what is permanent, in a sense of something that is in a fixed state. Perhaps we get pointed to our source, our true nature, eternal in the only concept of eternal that we have, yet perhaps it's only 'bigger'.
