Plain Speaking pt 2
Ok, AND now that I know the client will SAY yes when them mean no. And will WRITE no, when they mean no. I'm forcing myself to wait for an email reply back instead of picking up the phone. Because they seem much more truthful in their emails than in person.
This is the thing. I really prefer to just take everyone at their word. This having to watch their body language, interpret their moods, listen for hidden messages, what a big freaking waste of energy.
My father is AMAZING at this. He knows people better than they know themselves. I called him up and asked him about the client. He said not to push her into the truth, but I could give her a few nudges as I felt like it.
Dad also said people like this generally get their way and have found how to make the "say one thing mean another thing then gripe and whine about it" work for them.
Dad's advice. Note it and work around it.

Plain Speaking
Here's the thing... could people just say what they mean?
People say one thing and mean another thing. You ask is this ok? They say Yes, then they moan about it until I realize 'no' that wasn't ok.
I just now figured out about a client, where they said Yes to a tech solution only to find out now that they've been pissing and moaning and coming off as a victim about it that they don't care on the technology, they just want new.
I'm talking tech, they are talking new vs used.
Now that I know they just want new. Well, heck, could you have just started there?

Embracing Your Shadow, part two
=================================
"The gold is in the dark."
-Carl Jung
Last week, I shared some ideas on how you could create more freedom in your life by embracing those parts of yourself that you wish weren't or think shouldn't be there.
If you missed part one, you can read it online at:
http://www.geniuscatalyst.com/public/ets.php
This week, I want to focus on a different unowned aspect of ourselves, sometimes referred to by Jungians as 'the positive shadow'.
The positive shadow is made up of those positive traits you see in others but think couldn't possibly be there in you. It is the 'hiding place' of your unclaimed genius, greatness and capacity.
In the case of the positive shadow, we can see its impact in our unfulfilled aspirations, our seemingly endless quest for self-improvement, and often surprisingly in our personal heroes.
Whether your heroes are popular actors or musicians ('I could never be that popular/handsome/beautiful/wealthy/successful'),
Nobel Prize winners ('I could never be that
smart/powerful/impactful') or religious super-stars ('I could never be that wise/spiritual/enlightened'), we tend to put them high up on a pedestal, ensuring both that we can never reach them and that one day they'll fall from their lofty perch and we'll be crushed.
Now, remember the two 'rules' of embracing your shadow:
1. When you disown a part of yourself, it winds up running your life.
2. Once you embrace or 'own' that part, it no longer runs your life.
To these rules, I will now add a third:
3. Whatever you admire in others, you also have within you.
The reason you haven't yet claimed the greatness within yourself may be a simple lack of recognition (i.e. nobody told you to look), but is often the lingering after-effect of childhood hypnosis.
If the people in your life when you were growing up explicitly told you or implicitly insinuated that *you* weren't great or special or smart or creative or artistic or whatever, chances are you are still living out of that belief as a sort of 'post-hypnotic suggestion' in your life today.
Or you may have simply hypnotized yourself into believing it, repeatedly telling yourself you weren't capable of doing what the big people around you could do, usually because at that age, you probably weren't.
Today's experiment invites you to take a closer look to where you already exhibit those traits you so wish you had in your life, and will also begin to wake you up from the 'not good enough' trance so many of us spent our childhoods living in...
-------------------------------------------Today's Experiment - Reclaiming your Positive Shadow:
-------------------------------------------
(This experiment is influenced by the work of Dr. John F.
DeMartini. See the 'Want to Learn More?' section at the end of the tip to learn more!)
1. Who are the three people you most admire in the whole world?
2. For each person, ask yourself what it is about them that you admire. What do people say about them you wish they would say about you?
3. What's the most flattering thing that anyone could ever say about you (even if you 'know' it's not true)?
4. Instead of creating an affirmation for any positive traits you have identified, take some time to look for where you already exhibit.
Here are some questions to get you started:
*Who are at least five people who already see this trait in me?
*Where have I exhibited this trait in the past? Where am I exhibiting it in my life now? Where will I exhibit it in the future?
*In which of the following areas of my life do I exhibit this trait?
a. Physical
b. Mental
c. Spiritual
d. Work
e. Finances
f. Social
g. Family
Feel free to push yourself past the first three (or three
dozen!) times you tell yourself 'nobody thinks this of me and it is not true in any area of my life'. In the same way as you may not have been able to find your keys or the salt or even your car when they were right in front of you all the time, your strengths, gifts and genius are often hidden in plain sight until someone points them out to you.
If you really struggle with completing this experiment, you might just be too scared to really look. In exploring this possibility, consider these famous (though often misattributed) words from author and speaker Marianne Williamson:
"Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light, not our darkness that most frightens us.
We ask ourselves, Who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented, fabulous? Actually, who are you not to be? You are a child of God. Your playing small does not serve the world. There is nothing enlightened about shrinking so that other people won't feel insecure around you. We are all meant to shine, as children do.
We were born to make manifest the glory of God that is within us. It's not just in some of us; it's in everyone. And as we let our own light shine, we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same. As we are liberated from our own fear, our presence automatically liberates others."
Have fun, learn heaps, and catalyze your genius!
With love,
michael

Meditation and Prayer for International Angel Day - Meditation and Prayer for International Angel Day - Doreen Virtue
Meditation and Prayer for International Angel Day,
September 10, 2006
International Angel Day is Sunday, September 10, 2006 worldwide. Your prayers for world peace on that day are appreciated and needed. If you would like to join in one of the angel workshops being held that day, please visit www.internationalangelday.com to find a workshop near you.
Angel workshops are being held throughout the United States, and also Australia, Canada, Colombia, Denmark, Germany, Ireland, Japan, Latvia, Malaysia, Netherlands, New Zealand, Slovania, Switzerland, and the United Kingdom.
Whether you are at a workshop or not, your prayers make a powerful difference! Here is a suggested meditation and prayer for International Angel Day. Of course, please pray for peace in whichever way best reflects your personal spiritual or religious beliefs. We look forward to joining with your spirit of love and light on September 10.
With love and light,
Doreen Virtue
Beloved Creator and all of the angels in heaven and upon earth:
We set our crystal clear intentions this day to live in a peaceful world, a world where all living beings are respected and honored, a world where there is plentiful abundance for all, a world of cooperation, and a world of laughter, playfulness, and joy.
Together, we ask for Divine Intervention to blanket the earth and her population with healing love and light. This light and love, being God's will and creation, is the only power which truly exists. Let us now awaken collectively from the past nightmares of darkness, fear, or pain.
As we look back upon September 11, 2001, let our focus be upon the goodness and good will displayed by the people who rescued, provided, and cared for others. Let our focus on the dawn of the fifth anniversary of September 11 be a unified vision of an elevated model of humanity.
Each of us is a Divine child of God who has goodness inherently within. The more that we see the goodness within ourselves and others, the more we bring this God-given trait to the surface.
In this world of seeming duality, the flip side of light – darkness – can seem real and imposing. Yet this darkness stems from the belief that we could be something other than our very nature. It stems from the fear that we are separated from God, from the angels, and from each other.
This frightening thought then leads to the very conclusion which is the basis of earthly darkness: there is a lack of supply. In order to meet my needs for food, housing, land, money, acknowledgment, and ultimately the love that I crave, then I better hurry up and compete with everyone else so that I can get my share.
Yet like the worst nightmare we can experience while sleeping, there is a different reality when we awaken and remember that only God's creation is real . . . and God, who is all-loving, created only love. Everything else is a product of the fearful thought of separation.
We are awakening from the old dreams of darkness and collectively remembering love. We are remembering that we each have mighty and Divinely appointed purposes that involve being teachers, healers, and role models of love and light. We are remembering and reawakening our spiritual gifts and power! We are remembering that we can manifest and attract our needs instead of competing for them.
I recently met a group of people in their 20's who are fulfilling their purpose in a wonderful way which we can all model after. Before they fall asleep every night, they each say to the Divine Creator:
"Please give me a Divine Assignment during my dream time and send my soul and spirit where I can best bring love, light, and peace to the planet."
For the past few weeks, this group has been soul-traveling to the Middle East during their dream time. They've used crystals, wands, healing energy, and prayer as Heaven uses them as Earth Angels in the name of peace. Each morning, they all remember the same "dream" and recall each others' presence in the experience.
Clearly, this is the emerging power of the Indigo Generation who have a collective purpose of ushering out the old energy of competition and greed, and ushering in the new energy of cooperation and manifestation. We can all join with the Indigos in this endeavor.
We each have free will to choose love or fear in every thought, word, and deed. We know that the best way to experience peace on earth is to be peaceful ourselves. Let us now use our free will to ask God and the angels to help keep our thoughts, emotions, and actions centered in love.
Beloved Creator,
I choose to make a positive difference in the world and to live a life dedicated to peace, love, and cooperation. I ask that you send additional angels to my side to help me stay centered in my commitment to love and peace.
Angels, please help me to see myself and all others through your eyes, with compassion, and to see the light within us all. Help me to look past the ego and fearful behavior, and to remember that we truly are one, forever united with God.
I now ask for additional angels to be sent to:
Collectively as a group, let's send love and light to the entire planet right now.
In God's peaceful love, it is so.
Amen.
